NDB’s graduation took place on Saturday, May 30, as the Class of 2026 walked the stage, marking the conclusion of their four years in high school. Families, friends, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the graduating class and honor their achievements throughout the past years.
The ceremony featured speeches from several members of the NDB community, including Spanish teacher Kathryn Blanchard, Head of School Meredith Essalat, Salutatorian Claire Nguyen and Valedictorian Aleeya Baqai. Each speaker reflected on the growth of the Class of 2026, sharing advice and encouragement for the future.
Throughout their time at NDB, the Sharks made an impact in everything from academics to extracurriculars to sports. The Sharks claimed the annual Powderpuff championship for 4 consecutive years, along with 2 consecutive Aquacades victories. Many seniors secured spots at leading colleges across the United States, including three athletic commitments to various top universities.
Beyond the formal speeches, the ceremony was filled with emotional and celebratory moments from students and guests alike.
Underclassmen in attendance shared their perspectives on watching the Class of 2026 graduate. Junior Riley Blum expressed her bittersweet emotions upon watching many of her friends walk the stage, stating, “I have many close friends in the Class of 2026, and I will definitely miss them. NDB will not be the same without the Sharks.
Blum continued, “At the same time, I am incredibly excited to see them begin this next chapter of their lives. I have no doubt that they will accomplish amazing things in college and beyond, and I cannot wait to see all that they achieve.”
As names were called, graduates crossed the stage one by one to applause from the audience, marking the end of their high school journey. The Class of 2026 now joins the alumni community at NDB, carrying forward the memories, lessons and connections formed during their time at the school.
