About

The NDB Catalyst is dedicated to thoughtful reporting and a commitment to facts. Our mission is to inform students about campus events, spotlight diverse perspectives and provide a platform where student voices are heard and taken seriously.

We cover topics that shape student life – from academics and leadership to culture and community initiatives – while holding ourselves to standards of accuracy, fairness, and responsibility. The Catalyst aims to encourage the student body to engage with ideas, ask questions and better understand the world around them – both on and off campus.

As a student publication at a private Catholic school, The Catalyst recognizes that freedom of expression exists within a structure of shared values. We believe in open dialogue and the importance of examining diverse viewpoints, while also honoring the mission of Notre Dame Belmont. Our reporting strives to balance honest exploration with accountability, ensuring that content is constructive, respectful and aligned with the principles of Notre Dame.

Guided by curiosity, integrity, and independence, we seek truth through thoughtful inquiry and responsible storytelling. Our work reflects NDB’s commitment to justice and peace by approaching complex issues with care, empathy, and a respect for human dignity.

At its core, The Catalyst strives to uphold the belief that journalism should do more than summarize events – it should provide context, invite discussion and contribute to a more informed campus.

The NDB Catalyst exists to support a school culture where students are engaged, aware, and empowered to participate in the conversations that affect them.
