NDB’S prom was an exciting time for junior and seniors, giving them lot of preparation needed for the important night. This year’s prom took place on May 2nd. Many people were looking forward to and preparing for this night by finding the perfect dress, and embracing popular prom trends such as promposing.
One big detail of prom is the beautiful dresses worn. Many went to go out, and shop to find these dresses, which can be stressful but in the end very rewarding for their prom night.
“I like being able to go get my nails done with my mom, and I also like getting my dress,” said Junior Sophia Madrigal.
Another fun prom tradition was prom-posals. This tradition includes making fun signs, performances ect to ask your date to prom. This tradition has become increasingly popular with many schools creating social media accounts for students to share their unique promposals.
“I like prom posing culture. I think it’s a little bit cliche and like corny, but it’s still really fun to experience,” said senior Maise Street, who proposed to her date this year.
The rise of fake tanning became a huge part of getting ready for prom along with many other traditions such as getting you nails, eyebrows, and hair done. All of these aspects have become a huge part of getting ready for prom, and are still increasingly popular.
“I self tanned like two nights before. It was also the night of aquacades, like the night before prom. So I had a lot going on. I got my nails done that week, and then for Notre Dame prom. I had a track meet the Thursday before, so I self tanned that night. Then I did my hair like the morning of because I was doing something a little bit more special,” said Maise.
Prom was a date looked forward to by so many juniors and seniors at NDB. There have been so many aspects that these students take to get ready for this special night.
