The graduating Class of 2026, more known as the Sharks, said one of their final farewells at Senior Sunset, a longstanding tradition at NDB.
On Wednesday, May 20th, the class came together, meeting at the Father Downey Garden for their last bonding moment prior to graduation.
The night began at 6:30pm and concluded at 8:00pm. Sharks also gathered at 6:45 to take a group photo wearing their college decision gear or dressed to symbolize future graduation plans.
A Mister Softee and taco stand were also posted outside the event along with exciting games nearby.
Senior Reyna Gonzalez enjoyed the final event stating, “going to senior sunset was a really nice way to spend time with my class on the last day of school. It was really chill and I got to eat some tacos and some mister softees all while hanging out with my friends.”
Gonzalez attended the event proudly wearing her Santa Clara University sweatshirt where she will be majoring in psychology this fall.
New York University bound senior Reece Hamilton also found the sunset event to be happy and hopeful.
“I believe senior sunset was a great way for us Sharks to end the year and celebrate all of our accomplishments from the past 4 years” said Hamilton.
And lastly, Senior Alyse McBride shared that the bonding moment helped foster connections between all of her peers.
“Going to senior sunset was a great way to spend valuable time with my friends and classmates before we graduate. We took many pictures and talked to people who we may have not been close with before. Also, the tacos and ice cream were super good,” stated McBride who will be attending Boston University to study mechanical engineering.
The Senior class will say their final goodbye at graduation on Saturday, May 30th, from 2-3pm at NDB.
