A night of elegance and spirit: NDB’s annual auction – this year named the La Dolce Vita Spring Fundraiser – took place on Saturday, March 7, from 5 to 10 p.m. in the Moore Pavilion. The event is a cherished tradition for NDB families, friends and guests and serves as a vital fundraiser for the school.
The Moore was transformed into an Italian paradise for guests to enjoy, featuring refreshing Italian cuisine, coastal Italian decor, and an array of live entertainment.
Some food highlights include live pasta demonstrations, hand-tossed pizza and a gelato cart. Aperol spritzes and Italian wine were offered as well, completing the coastal Italian ambiance of the event.
A major part of the evening was a long-standing NDB tradition: Senior Spotlight. This is an event where seniors walk across a stage with their loved ones – usually their parents or guardians – in formal black attire. An announcement, music and dance accompanies the walk. It is another a high school milestone for a soon to be graduating senior, epecially as their four years draws closer to an end.
For seniors, the event is a meaningful and personal experience as they prepare for graduation.
“I am so excited for [Senior Spotlight],” shared senior Cecily Rambod. “I am most looking forward to walking with my dad. I feel like it will be special for us two because we get our own little spotlight.”
The auction also raises funds for future goals. The proceeds from this year’s Fund-A-Need project focused on a new physics tool wall, an essential resource that will allow young women to engage in hands-on experimentation and research. The tool wall is a highlight of support for the upcoming 10,000-square-foot STEM wing.
In support of this cause, a silent auction featured a variety of items up for bid; local experiences, luxury excursions, global travel opportunities and sports memorabilia were among the offerings.
Other contributors played a vital role with donors and sponsors ensuring the success of the night. Beyond the formal presentations, the silent auction produced a high-energy centerpiece for the evening’s fundraising. The competitive, yet friendly spirit of bidding highlights attendees’ dedication to the school community.
