As the 2024-2025 school year comes to an end, The Catalyst has officially named its next Editor-in-Chief: Page Krensavage. With a passion for writing and a strong vision for the future of the newspaper, Krensavage is eager to take on the leadership role and make her mark on the publication.
“The aspect I’m most excited about is making this newspaper and every single issue like my own,” Krensavage explained. “And not only when I say that, I don’t mean like, it’s all my work, it’s all like, exactly how I want it…I want it to be more of a collaborative paper…and I’m excited to bring the stories to life.”
As a multi – year long member of the journalism program, Krensavage has seen firsthand how the paper has grown over the years. Now, she looks forward to guiding her peers through the creative process, helping them strengthen their writing, and fostering an environment of collaboration.
When she first received the news of her selection, Krensavage was both thrilled and surprised. “I was really, really excited, and I was a little shocked, because I know other people were running, and I knew there were so many factors going in,” she shared. “I was really excited and very honored that Mr. Rojos, Andie, and Lauren entrusted me with their paper, and trusted me to take care of it and help it grow.”
Krensavage’s dedication to journalism stems from more than just a love for writing. She views the paper as a crucial part of the school community and values the way it connects students and faculty.
“Journalism has been an amazing resource for me. It’s awesome to be more involved in the school… whether it’s just like the inside scoop of the school or getting to connect with other teachers and other students,” she explained. “I want other students to be able to have that opportunity to just get more involved in the school, get to know more people. As Editor-in-Chief, I know I can help facilitate that.”
Current editor in chief Andie Wong expresses her reasoning behind Krensavage as her choice to step into her role next year: “Page has a real passion for journalism, and she puts herself in a lot of leadership roles…I’m excited for what she has planned for the next school year.”
