Lacrosse is underway at NDB, and practices and games weekly have demonstrated the players’ determination. The season’s progress in time has allowed connections to form, chemistry to build, and skills to improve.
Lacrosse has a JV and Varsity team this year, with coaches Will Evans and Carlos Diaz leading the teams in practice and games. Their home field, Crystal Springs Uplands Middle School in Belmont, is where they practice with drills like shooting, passing, and scrimmages. With this, the teams are looking forward to the rest of the season for improvements on and off the field.
“So far, it’s going really well. I know we had a lot of seniors last year that graduated, so this year is definitely a rebuilding year,” said junior Kiki Shah. “So far, we’ve had [good] team bonding, and we’ve developed a really good community.”
With Lacrosse being a spring sport at NDB, senior nights are starting to enter conversations. Senior nights at NDB are very special, and they are a beautiful and emotional tribute to the graduating seniors. Each team honors the seniors’ dedication and hard work throughout the seasons, and possibly years, dedicated to that sport. For Lacrosse, each senior will be given this same opportunity to be honored and celebrated.
“I’m looking forward to senior night because I get to see all my senior friends and cheer them on,” said senior Paulina Marshall.
With senior night coming up as May approaches, the season is continuing to develop, and players have certain goals for the rest of their 2026 Lacrosse season.
“For the rest of the season, I hope to accomplish better communication on the field, because communication is one of the biggest parts of lacrosse, and we’re already doing a really good job, but I hope we can communicate even more as the season goes on,” added Shah.
Coach Will Evans, head coach of the Varsity Lacrosse team at NDB, stated that his team is working hard and is looking forward to the rest of the season.
“It’s going really, really well,” said Evans about how the lacrosse season is going so far. “We are working hard and we’re having a lot of success as the team grows together…I hope that we have a really successful end of the season and a fun senior day.”
Overall, both JV and Varsity lacrosse teams have had a successful start to their season and hope to finish strong in May!
