On February 8th, the NFL Super Bowl will be held at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. Businesses, celebrities and thousands of people will be coming from all around the US to witness the biggest football game of the year. This weekend is very important to the Bay Area and football fans all over the nation.
Here in the Bay Area, grocery stores and clothes stores are preparing for the big day. Local Targets have been selling Super Bowl merchandise such as T-shirts and hats. At popular grocery stores you can find food marketed for the game, as well as food plates decorated to fit the football theme.
This event is looked forward to by families. Hosting Super Bowl events to celebrate this big event is very common. Many people celebrate with friends and family to see the winner of this big event. Even non-football fans look forward to the event to see the annual Super Bowl performer. This year, many are looking forward to watching Bad Bunny, a popular Spanish artist, perform at the halftime show.
Sophomore Mia Zeldin, when asked about her family’s celebration from the last Super Bowl, responded, “We basically customize all the lights in our house to be green. We have [green] food. We make our house have as much Eagles [gear] and green as we can ….”
The Super Bowl is anticipated by so many around the nation, but this year it is special to the Bay Area. Locals and businesses here in the Bay look forward to seeing their home host the big game, and are expressing that excitement.
