Basketball is now at the start of its season. Students are practicing after school and have had games and scrimmages so far. Here’s an overview of how both JV and Varsity seasons have been going.

The Varsity team, coached by Coach Sam Rossi, Coach Kate, and Coach John, has been off to a solid start. They started the season off with a scrimmage and one non-league game, where they beat Carlmont. On November 26th, they played in their annual alumni game, and on the 28th, they went up against Sequoia High School.

The JV team is coached by Coach Aubrie and Coach Florez. This year, the team has 6 freshmen playing NDB basketball for the first time, and 5 sophomores. In JV’s first scrimmage, the team was able to stay ahead, winning 3 out of the 4 quarters. 

“I think our team played really well, and we knew the plays pretty well, and it was our first time playing as a team, like with our new team, and I think everyone got along well and played well,” said JV player Samantha Barrett.

With a great start to their season, both basketball teams are looking to keep up their good work and continue the season with strong energy.
