As winter approaches, many students are preparing for the ski and snowboarding season. Skiing and snowboarding a fun winter activities that many of the students here at NDB participate in.

“My favorite part of ski season is going up to the mountain with friends and family and seeing the snow on the mountains,” said Keira Kennon.

Students can enjoy ski locations in SoCal, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. Many popular ski resorts are set to open very soon. The biggest ski resort here in California is Palisades, in Lake Tahoe, opening in late November, offering 6,000 acres of terrain to ski on. Other popular ski locations include Heavenly and North Star, both expected to open in late November, depending on snow conditions. 

Gearing up for ski season is so important. Students can purchase or rent skis and snowboards to use this season. In the Bay Area, many Students visit Helm of Sun Valley or Sports Basement to buy and rent gear.

“This ski season, I’ve been preparing by going to the ski shop and getting my snowboard waxed, and training,” Keira Kennon
