It has been one year since Donald Trump was re-elected to serve as the 47th president of the United States. In 2020, Donald Trump was not re-elected to be the 46th president and lost to former president and vice president Joseph Biden. The race was a close vote with Biden receiving 306 electoral votes and Trump receiving 232 votes. Ever since then, Trump was determined to regain himself and later on won the 2024 election.
Now that it has been a little over a year, many events have happened, with some major ones being the government shutdown, the war in Gaza and assassinations of political figures. Questions are being asked all around. How has it been so far with Trump being in office for the second time?
So many events have happened since the reelection of Donald Trump, but which are the major ones? On October 8th of 2025, after two years, Trump signed the first phase of the peace agreement with Hamas to release the American hostages from Gaza, which was one of the major events this year. October 13th was the day all hostages were released, which was a big deal.
This year, Donald Trump gifted the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10th of this year. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is given to those who are known to be the highest civilians in the United States and whose lives they have impacted. And because Charlie was a good friend of Trump, he was honored with this medal.
Even with the good or bad, different people will have different opinions on whether or not Donald Trump has been the same president he was back in 2016, or if he has gotten better or worse. The topic of Trump can easily be dismissed from schools because it can most likely cause a political argument between classmates and faculty.
