On Tuesday, November 18, NDB’s annual Powderpuff Game returned to the field as sister classes competed against each other. Seniors and sophomores came out on top, ultimately defeating the juniors and freshmen 21-7. This marks the seniors’ fourth consecutive championship, solidifying their status as an unbeatable team and showcasing their school pride.
In addition to the intense rivalry on the field, the game included an unexpected halftime performance from several staff members, along with lively commentary from ASB members to keep students entertained and updated during the game.
“[The halftime show] was actually a lot of fun. I know last year it was like cheerleading, I believe, which was a lot of fun to watch, but this year [it was] a lot of fun to watch . . . the teachers do something and be more interactive,” said sophomore Rayya Bazlamit.
Although this is a competition, Powderpuff continues to serve as a tradition that strengthens the bond between sister classes through practices, teamwork, and school spirit.
Junior Gaby Colorado stated, “I think it strengthens class unity because we have teams that are with our sister classes, so it’s… a lot of fun to prepare for the game together.”
Powderpuff is a special NDB tradition, and students from all grade levels are encouraged to participate without any fear or hesitation.
Senior Autumn Deetz-Rodriguez left some advice, stating, “[Powderpuff is] a fun game, coach, if you don’t want to play, but if you do want to play, just have fun and… give it your all.”
Overall, this year’s Powderpuff Game once again highlighted the spirit, unity, and tradition that define the NDB community.
