Guidance Counselor Michelle Campusano will be leaving the NDB community effective tomorrow. The announcement was made in a newsletter sent from Head of School Meredith Essalat on Tuesday, September 12.
“[She] has been a valued resource to colleagues, students and staffulty. She will be missed, and we wish her all the best in her new professional endeavors,” wrote Essalat in the newsletter.
Campusano has been a part of NDB since August 2021 and in the last two years has built a strong relationship with several students. In response to Essalat’s newsletter last week, students flooded the counseling center, highly emotional over the news.
“She was a great resource and was always someone I could go to regarding academic and emotional support,” said senior Madeleine King. “When it was announced, everyone got super freaked out about what would happen after she left. At first, I was really worried about who I could go to now, but I’m honestly just so glad she helped improve my experience at Notre Dame during her time here.”
With Campusano’s last day being tomorrow, her responsibilities have been temporarily passed on to a replacement staffulty member, as reiterated by Essalat.
“The Counseling Department will continue to support all students as they are accustomed, and we will be offering temporary staffing until Ms. Campusano’s permanent replacement is determined. Please stay tuned for further details,” assured Essalat in the newsletter.
