The senior Sharks are entering their last days of high school, and with graduation quickly approaching, they are preparing to say goodbye to the people that have shaped their time at NDB. Over the past four years, the Class of 2026 has built countless friendships, but one of the most meaningful relationships some students share is the bond between siblings. This year, many underclassmen will be saying goodbye to their older sisters as they prepare to begin a new chapter.
Having the opportunity to attend high school alongside one’s sister is a unique experience that many students at NDB are fortunate to have. From sharing rides to school to seeing each other in the hallways, these relationships create memories that last long after graduation. Because of this, saying goodbye to a sibling can be especially emotional.
Sophomore Vanessa Gonzalez will be saying goodbye to her sister Reyna as the soon-to-be alumna prepares to attend Santa Clara University.
Vanessa shared a heartfelt message to her sister, saying, “As she prepares to go to college, I just want to remind her how proud I am of her and how much she’s accomplished over the past four years. Even though it may not seem like I’m proud of her, just like deep down inside, like, I’m always just looking up at her.”
Gabby Beltramo is a freshman and, in the fall, her big sister Gianna will head to Los Angeles to attend UCLA.

Gabby shared a message of encouragement. “Good luck,” said Gabby. “I’m gonna miss you, and I know [you’re] gonna be great.”
Another sibling duo is sophomore Aurielle Deetz-Rodriguez and her sister Autumn, who will be attending Louisiana State University.
When asked to share a message for her sister, Aurielle said, “Best of luck in college, and I hope you meet a whole bunch of nice, new, fun people … Don’t forget to invite me to a football game.”
Having the opportunity to attend high school with my sister Olivia has been such an amazing experience. She will be attending the University of Southern California.
A message I have for my sister is: “Good luck in the future, and thank you for helping make NDB the welcoming environment it is. You have made my first two years in high school so memorable and fun. I hope to come visit you often, and I hope you have the best time in college.”
The senior class has been an important part of the NDB community for the past four years, and now it is time for them to begin a new chapter. The relationships and memories they have built, especially the bonds between siblings, will continue to be cherished for years to come.
Thank you to the Sharks Class of 2026 for being such an inspiration to the underclassmen. Throughout their time at NDB, they have created a community that is welcoming, spirited and deeply involved in school life. As they move on to new opportunities and experiences, their impact on the NDB community will not be forgotten. Good luck in the future, and thank you again for all you have taught the underclassmen.
