Intersession is famously known as an exciting week where tigers can choose to take an alternate course for one week to expand their horizons and to explore new interests. One of the new courses that is offered this 2025-2026 school year is a scrapbooking class led by Mrs. Boragno and Mrs. Falzon, offered only to seniors. This is a way to commemorate the four years that the sharks have spent at this school and highlight some of the important moments with pictures and other visual elements.
Humanities Department Chair Sarah Boragno explained what she hopes seniors will take away from this course.
“Mrs. Falzon and I designed this class to be very stress-free, especially at the senior level. To make sure that students are able to enjoy all that intersession has to offer, and also meaningful in the sense that they have a whole week to like, reflect on their entire four years here at NDB and create a scrapbook and actually walk away with an artifact that they can hold on to and take with them and make extra pages for when it comes to prom and other big senior events, graduation, aquacades, and beyond NDB.”
Along with the nostalgia of looking back on the past years of high school, scrapbooking is a way for many people to deal with stress and to calm themselves during times filled with anxiety. The act of cutting out images and arranging them on a piece of paper, picking out decorations to make the page special, and adding embellishments to make the page your own is a fun, creative, and calming way to fill time.
Overall, Seniors at NDB are looking forward to this new intersession course as it is nostalgic, calming, and a time that they can spend with their fellow Sharks to commemorate their last few months together at Notre Dame Belmont.
