Oftentimes, especially in the bay, it’s either cold or raining. Sometimes, a day is needed to stay inside and do activities to stay dry and comfortable. There are countless ways to have fun, even if it’s too cold to go out. Whether it’s with friends or family, you can never run out of things to do. Some people enjoy baking, some enjoy taking a long nap, but when it’s too cold to go outside and have fun, there’s always something to do while staying warm.
“My favorite cold day activity is making soup and reading a book. I also like watching movies because movies are always the absolute best thing to do when it’s raining. I really like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Great Beauty; those are two movies I would recommend.” Says April Johnson, an avid movie watcher and HMB resident.
Like April, most people find comfort in grabbing a warm blanket and putting on a comfort show. and she recommends some classics such as Gilmore Girls, Friends, and Stranger Things. Although comfort shows are great, some people enjoy going outside in the rain. Because April lives in HMB, the weather is often cold and rainy. This makes perfect weather for staying inside and binging a good show.
For some people, rainy weather is the best weather to do work in, and it makes them feel productive. When it’s raining, people find it calming, making them feel like they are in a non-stressful environment, and the perfect time to catch up on things they are missing.
Although the rainy and cold weather makes it difficult to do many of the things the Bay Area is known for, such as going to the beach or taking a walk in one of the many beautiful parks, it gives people the opportunity to explore things they wouldn’t normally do if it were sunny outside.
