The holidays are quickly approaching and stores have begun lining their shelves with family favorite foods. With the spirit of Thanksgiving dinner in the air, it’s time to start thinking about food. Which brings up the question, what is NDB’s favorite Thanksgiving food?
This is exactly what the Catalyst asked the students. A whopping 29%, students said that their favorite Thanksgiving dinner item was pumpkin pie, closely followed by stuffing with 21% and mashed potatoes with 18%.
Pumpkin pie is a Thanksgiving classic, always coming after the meal. The delicious, fluffy crumb crust on the outside can make one’s own heart melt at the taste. Topping it with pumpkin and whipped cream is always a staple on any pie, and recently new ways to elevate a simple pumpkin pie have been invented. Adding cinnamon, apples and really anything sweet to a plain pie will take it to the next level. NDB students picked the most delectable Thanksgiving meal item, and certainly an eye-catching dessert for any Thanksgiving.
“My favorite food at Thanksgiving is the stuffing. I really like its flavor and crunch. Personally, I am not a big fan of pumpkin pie, but I can see why it’s a fan favorite.” said sophomore Maisie Street, “My favorite part of Thanksgiving is seeing my family and eating really good food.”
Holidays are a great way for family and friends to come together and celebrate. When it comes to Thanksgiving, food is one way for families to connect and celebrate. At NDB specifically, one food that stands out to NDB students is the classic pumpkin pie.
