Padre’s Alexander Atkins (#18) jumps to make a touchdown.

The Serra Padres varsity football team played Valley Christian at one o’clock on November 13 at their home field.

It is no surprise that the Padres made it this far, as they have been playing very well this season. This was a rough game, but the crowd and their fans inspired them to keep playing during the heatwave. The NDB sideline cheer team was there as well and performed a routine during half-time.

Throughout the season, the Padres have only given up three turnovers, but during this game there were five turnovers in one game. The turnovers definitely got to their heads as their offense became sloppy and ended the first half 14 to 6. However, through adversity and resilience, they were able to turn the game around by the third quarter and tied it up 14 to 14.

Through the blazing heat, they kept their momentum and were able to come out of it all with a total score of 41 to 30. This win means they will play Bellarmine for another shot at winning CCS. The last time the Padres played Bellarmine on October 12, they beat them 41 to 7, so the fans are anticipating another win.
