Pumpkin patches in the Bay Area
Pumpkin patches have always been a source of joy and excitement to everyone who sees them as they drive by on Highway 1 and 92 through the Bay Area. This year, the pumpkin patches are especially meaningful because they symbolize coming out of COVID-19 and the start of the holiday season.
Many people love the entire experience of going to a pumpkin patch. They love walking into the lot and seeing rows of all different kinds of pumpkins in all different colors; orange, white, and green. It is a fun outing for anyone, whether that’s family, friends, or even neighbors.
This year, the most popular pumpkin spots are all throughout Half Moon Bay. The most well-known locations are Farmer Johns, Farmer’s Daughter, and Arata’s Pumpkin Farm. The classic orange pumpkins that the month of October is well known for are around $4 this year, almost a dollar more than last year’s average price. However, the popular small orange and white pumpkins have been consistently $1 throughout the last few years. If people do decide to drive to get pumpkins, they are well worth the money, experience, and symbol of fall.
Not only are pumpkin patches a fun experience, they are also some people’s favorite part of the Fall season.
“I’ve loved going through the maze and picking out the biggest pumpkins with my friends and family.” said sophomore Caitlin Degnan when asked what her best memory of the Fall season was.
“Yeah, I think it would be a super fun thing to do with my family,” said sophomore Olivia Chartier, “I would definitely consider driving to the Bay Area to visit one.”
Hopefully a lot of families are encouraged to come visit some of the Bay Area’s pumpkin patches this season. Take advantage of Fall and spend time with family and friends at one of the Bay Area’s most famous places.
