Celebrating Mother’s Day in the Age of Corona

Mother’s Day takes the time to celebrate mothers all around the world and all the hard work they have done for their children. It is super important to show mothers how much their children appreciate them. Mother’s deserve to be appreciated because they are the rocks of a family. With this, the NDB Catalyst talked to several NDB seniors on how they celebrated their Mothers in the age of the COVID-19 virus. They were all asked the question, “How did you make your mother’s day special this year in the age of the Coronavirus?”

“My family knew we had to make this Mother’s Day extra special because she has been working overtime during corona. She spends the majority of her time cooking and cleaning the house. All her alone time has been invaded as we are stuck at home. My dad curated a beautiful arrangement of followers, and we made her a big brunch and cooked her favorite dinner. For the most part, we tried to let her have alone time and just let her relax. We also went on a bike ride around Palo Alto. I hope she enjoyed her Mother’s Day because she deserves the world!” – Isabelle Collins, Senior

“We made Mother’s Day special this year by making my mom breakfast in bed and writing her cards. We also made dinner and helped clean the house, and then we were able to eat and spend the night outside. My mom loves the little things, like helping around the house and spending time with us, rather than big presents, which I admire about her.” – Delaney Fox, Senior

“This year, we had a little brunch in our backyard to celebrate Mother’s Day. Each member of my family helped to prepare one of my mom’s favorite dishes. For brunch, we sat outside and disconnected from social media and talked about some happy memories.” – Lauren Harrison, Senior
