On September 23, heartthrob Harry Styles returned to the big screens in the long-awaited film, “Don’t Worry Darling”. The film is directed by Olivia Wilde and features some of Hollywood’s favorites.

Styles stars in the film alongside “Midsommar’s” Florence Pugh. Other actors worth noting include Gemma Chan, Chris Pine, Sydney Chandler and Nick Kroll. The film is a psychological thriller taking place in a utopian neighborhood. Pugh plays a housewife who moves to a new neighborhood with her loving husband. As her life begins to settle into her eerily perfect new home, she discovers a secret that her husband, played by Styles, and his company hid from the residents of the neighborhood.

The movie will mark Wilde’s second film as a director, her first being the critically acclaimed movie, “Booksmart”.

While a great deal of excitement sprouted over talk of the film, drama followed as well. The original casting for the male lead was Shia LaBeouf, who had dropped the role for other obligations. Soon after his leave, Wilde then spoke on not welcoming actors who would not be a positive influence on the film and its creation. Following Style’s casting, tabloids captured photos of him and Wilde spending extra time together outside of film shoots. It was conspired that the two had fallen into a relationship with one another. Leading up to the initial premiere set in Venice, many fans began to sense tension between Wilde and her leading actress, Pugh. The rumors had begun when the actress seemed to have lost her enthusiasm for advertising the film. She had previously shown great support for the film until then.

The first premiere of the film took place on September 6 at the Venice Film Festival alongside other long anticipated films. Amid rumors of a break up between the director and the lead actor, the two are not pictured standing next together in any press photos. Tension ran high when it was noticed that Florence Pugh was nowhere to be seen at the start of the premiere or at the press conference which consisted of Wilde, Styles, Pine and Gemma Chan.

Styles brought immense interest to the film and many fans kept a close eye on the advertising and plans for the film. Talk of the film only heightened when clips from the premiere were released. As the film seemed to be gaining recognition from the Internet, the publicity has been both positive and negative. Clips from the premiere have gone viral on many social media platforms. Viewers have both commended the actors for the film and criticized their behaviors and interactions with one another.
