Avery Tuthill after tennis practice.

Avery Tuthill, a senior and varsity tennis player at NDB was able to sit down with the catalyst and answer some questions about her time playing tennis for NDB.

Tuthill played tennis on and off before coming to NDB, as a freshman she was able to pick it back up again and has been playing ever since.

When asked what inspired her to play as a freshman, she said, “well actually one of my good friends Kyra Green was also on the team, she really encouraged me to play my freshman year. And then I really just loved, like how welcoming the team was and so that encouraged me.”

Over her four years of playing for NDB, she said “I’ve learned that it really takes a lot of work and practice and making the time to be there for every practice and game.”

Her favorite memory from the tennis team this year has been the Clovis trip, “I think my favorite memory has probably been the Clovis trip that varsity takes and getting to spend time with my teammates. Through all the meals and at the games. It really helps the team bonding.”

She hopes to continue playing tennis after she graduates NDB, although she is not sure if she will play competitively anymore, she loves the sport and is excited to play recreationally.
