How to stay entertained during a long drive/flight

When reflecting on the past year, some of the best memories students have are traveling with family and friends. Traveling to a new, or favorite place, is almost always a fun experience filled with new experiences and new memories. However, the one part that comes before arriving at your destination is the time it takes to travel.

Whether on a plane or in a car, a ten hour flight or a one hour drive, you are guaranteed a decent amount of unstructured time where you can choose what you want to do. For some, this time can be a drag because many ask what are they supposed to do? Read on and you will find some ideas of how to keep yourself entertained during the traveling time.

The most popular way to keep yourself busy is to watch TV. This is made possible by downloads on Netflix, or wherever else you watch TV. The best way to come prepared is to download your favorite show and/or movie the night before, so that you don’t have to worry about bad reception or lack of data to download outside of WiFi. Watching something on your device helps pass the time, while enjoying your favorite feature. There is also the option to play games on your electronics, whether having downloadable apps or playing Game Pigeon over text with friends. Whatever option chosen, it will pass the time while having you interested and trying something new.

If you are interested in using the traveling time to stay productive, packing a book or your school work is a good way to use the time to your advantage. For some, a good book can pass the time faster than any movie, and is usually extremely interesting. A more difficult but productive way to use the time in the plane or car is to do some school work. Having homework over time off is always something lingering at the back of your mind, so it would be best to get it done beforehand. Even though it is hard to motivate yourself to be productive while traveling, it will be worth it when there isn’t as much work left for vacation.

Hopefully these few ideas will help occupy your time whether in the air or on the road. Next time you travel hopefully you can use the travel time to your advantage.
