NDB Tennis: Q&A with Taylor Klein
The Catalyst interviewed Taylor Klein, a senior and team captain on the NDB varsity tennis team, as she reflected on her years playing tennis at NDB to end her final season.
The Catalyst (TC): How was the NDB tennis season this year?
Taylor Klein (TK): It was good. We were able to do a lot of matches, and we had a good turnout for varsity and JV. We had both teams [playing], so that was really good. We ended up placing around fourth in the league, so we had a pretty good season against teams like Menlo, Sacred Heart, and Harker.
TC: What was your favorite part of the season, despite the pandemic?
TK: I was really glad that I was able to see all my teammates again and reconnect with social interaction. And I was also glad that we were able to have a senior game.
TC: How do you feel wrapping up your final year on the NDB team as a senior?
TK: I’m really glad that I tried out my freshman year, even though I didn’t have much experience. And I’m glad that I was able to make so many friends through tennis, and I’ve been friends with them [for] all four years. It’s also been a really great outlet for me.
TC: Do you plan on playing tennis in college too?
TK: I want to try to either do club or intramural [tennis], it just depends on how [busy] I am with my workload and how much time I have.
