March 9, 2020: The day we went online…

Five weeks ago, NDB closed its campus for deep cleaning out of an abundance of caution for possible exposure to the coronavirus. During the prior weekend, news came of a Serra HS student who had been in close contact with a relative who had tested positive for the virus, resulting in the closure of Serra’s campus. NDB decided to close its campus also because several of its students had attended Tri-School classes at Serra during the previous week. The closure was scheduled to last only three days.

During the week of Monday, March 9, students and teachers quickly pivoted online, conducting classes on the video conferencing app Zoom and using G Suite and Schoology to assign, complete, and turn-in work.  The Catalyst staff documented their daily activities during that first week.  These are their stories.
