On September 21, students from Junipero Serra and Mercy HS’s and NDB participated in the annual four-mile walk from Mercy HS in Burlingame to the Catholic Worker Hospitality House in San Bruno, known as the Walk for Catholic Worker. Students participate in the event to raise awareness about poverty, injustice, and homelessness.

Sophomore Emma Boyd said, “I like to give back to the community, so [the walk] makes me believe in what I do. It raises awareness and shows that it may seem like it, but not everybody in our community has the same privileges as we do.”

After starting the morning with ice breaker activities, the students spent the morning walking to the house where they had a pasta lunch and received t-shirts.
