Tuesday, October 28, was “Dress Your Type Day.” The second day of spirit week was fulfilled, and students created unique outfits to fall under the theme. Ranging from wearing baggy sweats, basketball shorts, sports jerseys, baseball hats, and overalls, students combined many different articles of clothing to dress as their type.
Many dressed as their favorite sports players. For example, students resembled the Golden State Warriors, Giants, Dodgers, and even Serra athletes.
ASB president, Olivia McGlynn, mentioned, “I really enjoyed this day, and it was so fun seeing how creative everyone got and how different people interpreted their ‘type.’ You can start to see everyone’s personality coming through their outfits. “ She adds, detailing her outfit, “Today, I am wearing a sports jersey of my favorite baseball team and a baseball hat that goes with it to represent my type.”
Other students used clothing that they previously owned, making it easier for them to prepare an outfit. One student who did this was a sophomore, Piper Ventura, who added, “Today was my favorite spirit day because everyone created such unique outfits and brought lots of different types of clothing together. The outfits are so funny, and I loved helping my friends pick out something to wear.” Explaining her outfit, she adds, “Today, I am wearing a Serra hoodie and a Serra hat to represent my type.”
ASB Vice President, Natalia Cuneo, said, “My favorite part of today’s spirit week was seeing everyone participate and creating funny outfits. I am wearing an oversized sports hoodie, long shorts, and a baseball hat to contribute to this spirit day.”
Ultimately, the spirit filled the halls with energy and laughter as students showed off their creative looks. “Dress Your Type Day brought the NDB community together, setting the tone for the rest of the exciting, spirit-filled week. Look out for Wednesday’s Babies vs. Boomers!
