Watching spooky movies, visiting the pumpkin patch and baking cookies are just a few popular festivities to celebrate Halloween. For some, it is the welcoming of the cozy holiday season with its cool, crisp air and cozy traditions. For others, Halloween is just a time to eat sweets and be given a fright. Students are preparing for Halloween in many enjoyable, festive ways.
What would Halloween be without the seasonal decorations and spirit from each house in your neighborhood? For many families, putting out the fake cobwebs and tombstones in the front yard can be a time full of memories.
“I love to decorate the house with my mom. We do that every year, just her and me,” shared freshman Brianie McKeon.
Many people have traditions they like to celebrate during the Halloween season. For some that may be going to a haunted house or having a Halloween movie marathon.
“I think I’m gonna carve pumpkins with my cousins because that’s something that we always do,” said sophomore Piper Ventura.
A fall fan favorite is going to Starbucks and enjoying a treat or drink off of their fall menu. Items include pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin cream cheese muffins.
“My favorite treat to bake is probably pumpkin bread and then my favorite Starbucks drink is a pumpkin chai,” explained junior Sophia Madrigal.
With a treat, comes a trick. On the other side of this cozy season is the thrill and scare that follows Halloween. October is the perfect time to turn on a scary movie with others.
“I’ll probably plan my Halloween costume and maybe watch some scary movies with my friends,” expressed senior Fiona Guiney.
Halloween is a time of excitement and celebrations, and students love getting ready and participating in the festivities.
