On Saturday, Oct. 4, NDB’s Homecoming dance was held in the Moore Pavilion, as well as the Father Downy Garden. ASB decided to continue the tradition founded last year and plan another Homecoming. Together, they determined the theme of “Under the Stars.” A key difference made this year was the dance being held indoors and outdoors to allow for a spacious environment and to avoid overcrowded spaces. Many students showed up wearing their best attire and brought dates to the dance.
ASB spent weeks planning for the dance and implementing students’ input from the previous homecoming dance this past year. Many felt they had a more enjoyable experience due to the added space.
Sophomore Penny McCarty said, “I liked how this year’s homecoming was in the Moore and the Father Downey garden.”
Similar to any event, some students had mixed feelings about the dance. Whether the complaint was about the music, food not being served or a lack of attendance, some were not pleased by the dance. However, despite some students not enjoying homecoming, the majority of the student body claimed to have had a great night!
Junior Ella McKinney said, “I loved homecoming because it was so fun taking pictures and getting ready with my friends, and it was so fun to be around everybody and get all dressed up.”
Students took fun pictures in the photo booth, danced on the dance floor and had a great time with their friends. Although some students had negative opinions about the dance, the overall consensus was that homecoming was a big hit! Students are grateful for the time and effort that ASB and staff members put into planning this exciting event.
