Almost every student at NDB can attest that Menchies is our high school staple. After a long school day, sports game or evening out with friends, classmates can rely on our local fro-yo spot for comfort.
Located at 1200 El Camino Real, Belmont, Menchies operates to the public every day from 12 to 9 pm. The classic building holds numerous flavors, from chocolate to strawberry and New York Cheesecake to Pineapple Dole Whip. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Senior and Menchie’s enthusiast Avery Jones finds the sweet treat accessible and delicious.
Jones appreciates the establishment’s self-serve option, giving her the freedom to mix and match as she chooses.
“My go to order is cake batter, ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, hot fudge strawberries and marshmallows…I’ve perfected it over time with a lot of experience, and it’s just the best. The ratio is perfect” said Jones.
Immaculate Heart of Mary student Matthew Moorhead is also a fan, his favorite combination being strawberry with cookies and cream.
He enjoys going to Menchies with friends or family after a long baseball game.
Similar to Jones, Moorhead’s favorite part is freedom to customize his yogurt.
While Menchies is not the only local yogurt spot in Belmont, it certainly earns a title for being accessible and customizable to the public, making it a favorite for NDB students and beyond.
