At 21 years old, Tate McRae is one of the most popular artists of 2025. She has gained a significant amount of attention around NDB because of her iconic dancing, singing and songwriting skills. Her highly anticipated upcoming concert tour, “Miss Possessive” has been spreading around like wildfire among students. People are scrambling to find tickets and for a good reason. Her relatable lyrics and powerful stage presence are just two things that capture people’s attention, and her name continues to gain more and more popularity within the student community.
McRae first gained national fame when she appeared on the popular dance show “So, You Think You Can Dance” when she was just 13 years old. She began posting songs on YouTube, and her track “One Day” blew up in 2017. In 2020, she officially signed with RCA Records and released her first viral single, “You Broke Me First.” Today, she is known throughout Gen-Z for her emotional, relatable lyrics and her strong dance background, which helped jump-start her career in the music industry.
As one of the most popular artists nowadays, she has completely sold out her September 24 performance at the Chase Center in San Francisco. This stadium can hold up to almost 19,000 people, so this is no easy task. This was one of the most-awaited events of the year. Tickets were sold out within days and, now, only high-demand resale options are available.
This show is part of McRae’s first fully scaled arena tour, and it is centered around her most recent and most popular 2025 album, “So Close to What,” which has blown up all over social media platforms. The rapid sell-out not only highlights McRae’s dramatic rise in the pop music field, but also emphasizes her increasing ability to draw large-scale audiences across North America.
In regard to ticket prices, the average cost generally range from about $200 to $500, depending on where the buyers wanted to be seated. The most common tickets purchased were in the pit, located in the center of the venue. Most tickets with reasonable pricing sold out within just a couple of hours, and from that point on the prices continued to rise rapidly.
“Tate McRae tickets are honestly pretty hard to get for a good price because she’s pretty popular … They did sell out really quickly,” said senior Maddie Blee.
As one of the most popular rising artists, she connects with her fans using her lyrics that are filled with vulnerability. McRae has a large age range for her listeners, normally ranging from 14 to 25 years old. Although, she is also now known by parents whose children are attending the tour.
NDB Spanish teacher Kathryn Blanchard commented on how her daughters listen to McRae often, and they are thinking of attending the tour.
“I’ve definitely heard my kids talk about her music … and I’ve definitely heard them talk about her dancing and her outfits,” said Blanchard.
With McRae almost completely selling out all available tickets, excitement among her fans is hard to miss, especially at NDB.
“I’m really excited to see her because she’s a great performer, and it’s a really good crowd. I saw her a year ago and can’t wait to go again,” said senior Maia Mejia-Young.
Fashion is a big part of the concert experience, so there’s always a clear theme when it comes to outfits on this tour. Some of her fans like to stick with the look of jerseys and black boots, following McRae’s aesthetic, but others decide to take a different route with clothing similar to rave attire.
“Generally, people wear shorts with a jersey, matching her style. People also usually wear darker colors,” explained Mejia-Young.
NDB fans are eager as McRae readies for her Chase Center concert.
