“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is taking the storm on every Wednesday night as the last season of the show rolls in. With the original book by Jenny Han being transformed into this eventful and shocking summer show, the drama fills NDB students with excitement and suspense.
“I have,” said junior Sami Kirkpatrick, on if she’s been watching the show every Wednesday night. “It’s really sad [for the show to wrap up] because I’ve been watching the show for three years, but I think it’s ready to end…[I am] team Conrad, I hate Jeremiah, and he’s the better option.”
The show first began its journey in the summer of 2022, exploring the arrival of the Conklins in Cousins Beach to visit the Fishers. Belly Conklin, the main character of the show, was always seen as the younger sister of Steven. The Fisher brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, both display feelings for Belly. While Belly has been in love with Conrad her whole life, she explores the possibilities with Jeremiah as well.
“I am ready for the show to wrap up,” said senior Rebecca Welte about the show’s final season. “I like Steven, because he’s a real one. But I don’t think he got angry enough about Jeremiah cheating on Belly…[I’m team] Conrad, I guess, because Jeremiah is, like, awful.”
Throughout the progression of the show, all the way through season two and now season three, viewers have seen Belly go from brother to brother, which has forced people to pick sides, either team Jeremiah or team Conrad. From TikTok to Instagram, people display their teams and the “fights” with their friends over which team they support.
“Yes, I am,” said senior Alex Davidow on whether she’s ready for the show to wrap up. “I really like Laurel, because she’s so sweet and caring, and [I am] team Conrad.”
With the show’s conclusion of its third and final season, fans can’t wait to see the fate of their favorite characters in the season finale on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. With the summer of 2025 ending, so does the show “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. After the finale of the show, it was revealed that a movie will be released, so people will see their favorite characters on screen once again. As NDB heads into the new school year, they are wondering one essential question: Who will steal Belly’s heart once and for all?
