One hundred eleven Panthers have pounced on the NDB community! This year’s freshman class is the biggest class on campus, and they bring new energy and excitement to the student body. For many, this is their first time attending an all-girls school, experiencing spirit rallies and playing on high school sports teams. For all, this marks the beginning of their high school journey, a nerve-racking, thrilling and transitional time in their lives.
The Panthers did not disappoint at the first spirit rally, showing their excitement and passion. Every student was decked out in purple accessories, from tutus to face paint. Some were even wearing red to support their sister class, the junior Vipers.
Freshman Sevi Christoforidis shared her thoughts about the rally, saying, “It was fun. It was really fun.”
There is no doubt that the Class of 2029 is a spirited class, and the community is excited to see what they have to offer.
Earlier this month, the freshmen also held their first class council election. Many girls ran for a position on the seven member council and, after speeches and voting, the Panthers elected President Arsema Aron Vescia, Vice-President Minnie Evans, Secretary/Treasurer Mayenna Navarro, Activities Director Riley Cohen, Athletics Director Molly Hipps, Spirit Director Olivia Santos and Historian Nicole Dimitropoulos.
After the election, Navarro shared, “I know our student council really wants to make this year fun, and I think we want to try a lot of new things.”
Freshman Class Coordinator Jonathan Tomczak had many positive things to say about the class, commenting on their energy and enthusiasm. “I think they’re going to be running this place sooner, rather than later,” said Tomczak.
The first month of high school is complete for the Panthers, and the freshman have been learning more about each other and their new school every day. The community is eager to see how this class makes its mark throughout the school year.
