Senior Elizabeth Johnson shares her interests in sports and activities outside of school. One thing she loves to do is play sports; she has stressed her involvement by playing two sports during her high school years: volleyball and basketball. She enjoys both and gives us so more insight into her favorite memories from the sports.
“My favorite memory from high school volleyball is going to Carmel Village before games and making new friends on the team. My favorite memories from basketball are creating a knockout cancer awareness event last year and seeing how successful it was, and coming out with the win in overtime was a big highlight.”
Understanding what one practice can look like is important in getting to know what the team feels and looks like. Johnson describes her practices. “One practice for volleyball warm-ups with warmups, the final drills, and then playing against. We also have other things, and we love to play hype music. For basketball, it’s high intensity, with many hard drills such as defense and conditioning, but other than that I love being with my teammates.”
Another important part of her life is her pet cat, named Sicsco. Having a pet is a great way to spend time in your free time doing something that you love. Johnson explains, “I have a pet cat named Sisco and I love to play fetch with him even though he dodesnt do the best job bringing the ball back. Sisco keeps me company when my parents leave me home alone sometimes and I also love watching tv and cuddling with Sisco.”
Another activity that she loves doing is spending time with her frineds. Outside of school they’re many differnet acitivites students can do to build the bond with their friends. Johnson describes, “My favorite activity outside of school is hanging out with friends and family, whether that’s going to the beach, going to Menchie’s, or just hanging out. I love going for day trips um with my friends, and swimming.”
