TC: What made you want to return back to Notre Dame?
PT: I really enjoyed the community. Last year, the students that I worked with were really lovely, and so that was a big driver. I love the commitment and the hard work that everybody did, so I was very impressed, and that’s why I wanted to come back.
TC: What do you want your students to know about you right away?
PT: I would love them to know that I’m approachable; that I’m willing to meet whenever they need so I’m here for them.
TC: How would you describe your philosophy or teaching style? Do you think it’s changed since last semester?
PT: This is the first time I start from scratch, like my own classroom, everything, so, it is evolving, but my style of teaching is more collaborative. I would say I love kids to participate and answer questions. I don’t like to just talk at my students. I love them to have something to chime in; I love stories and all that stuff.
TC: Is there something you’re looking forward to this school year?
PT: I get a homeroom this year, [which] is something I’m looking forward to.
