As the Monarchs slowly approach the end of their high school year, they will go off to challenges with new opportunities and experiences. At NDB, they created many memories throughout their four years with their class. As seniors prepare for graduation, they reflect on what they will miss the most about the NDB community.
Senior Sally Khoury will attend the University of San Diego next fall. At NDB, she was a part of varsity beach volleyball, yearbook and the senior student council. She will miss seeing her friends at NDB the most.
“I feel like, at Notre Dame, we have a very big community of girls here that is just super supporting and we’re all very tight, and so I feel like I’ll just miss all the girls in my class.”
During Senior Virginia Fitzgerald’s time at NDB, she was involved with track & field, flag football, link crew and student council. The sisterhood at NDB is a notable factor as it has brought the seniors together to support one another.
“I think I’m mostly going to miss the community and sisterhood that NDB has brought me,” shared senior Virginia Fitzgerald.
Next fall, she will attend the University of Oregon. Furthermore, she shared that she will miss the spirit of Aquacades, as it is one of the biggest spirit events at NDB.
ASB Activities Director Senior Nina Wall plans to attend California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo for college. She was involved with the student council, and participated in various sports and clubs.
“One thing that I will miss about Notre Dame next year is how comfortable I feel at school. I think one thing that I’ve kind of taken for granted is how I can come to school every day, like, not worrying about my appearance or not worrying about how much I talk in the classroom.” shared Wall. “And I think that once I get to college and in a bigger school setting, I will have to be a little more conscious about that. … here at Notre Dame. I just feel comfortable to be in my own skin and act as who I want to be, and I still get support from that, no matter what.”
The all-girls community at NDB creates an atmosphere where all students are able to freely express themselves and support one another. As the class of 2025 embarks on their new start, NDB wishes them the best as they pursue their future endeavors. The Monarchs will be remembered by their younger peers and will always be part of the NDB community.
