NDB’s lacrosse team had a very successful season this year. Led by captains Julianna Loar, Charlotte Parks, Hailey Degnan, and Luci Caron, the team focused on growth, teamwork, and supporting one another on and off the field.
The season began with some challenges as the team worked to find its rhythm. With new players and position changes, they had to learn how to play together. But over time, their teamwork and communication improved, leading to impressive progress and memorable wins.
Senior and captain Luci Caron says, “At the start of the season, we were kind of figuring things out, new players, new positions, and just learning how to play together. But as the season went on, we really started to click. Our communication got better, our defense tightened up, and offensively, we started trusting each other more. The chemistry built up over time, and by the end of the season, we were playing as one unit instead of just a bunch of individuals. That made a huge difference.”
Despite facing tough competition, the Tigers celebrated several exciting victories and key moments throughout the season. Each game gave them a chance to grow stronger as a team, whether it was scoring their first goal of the season, securing a hard-fought win, or simply giving their all on the field. Their resilience and bond as teammates stood out regardless of the scoreboard.
Caron shares, “Honestly, I’m most proud of how hard everyone worked and how we stuck together no matter what. We had some tough games, but no one gave up, we kept pushing, kept showing up, and kept believing in each other. Watching some of the younger players step up and make big plays when it mattered was really cool. Everyone played their role, and that made us stronger as a team.”
A highlight of the season was senior night at Crystal Springs Uplands School. Each senior received flowers and a sash with their name while Mr. Tomczak announced them to the crowd. Afterward, they were gifted a basket filled with their favorite things. The Tigers played Presentation High School that night and celebrated a 14 – 7 win.
The team finished the season strong, earning 3rd place in the WBAL Alpine Division—a proud ending to a season full of growth, teamwork, and heart.
