For students, summer serves as a wonderful opportunity to step away from the pressures of school and enjoy a much-needed break from the stress and demands. It is a time when students can rest without constant deadlines and homework assignments, giving them a chance to spend quality time with friends and focus on the enjoyable activities and hobbies they love. In addition, summer provides valuable opportunities for travel and new experiences, allowing students to immerse themselves in different cultures and make unforgettable memories along the way, which can enrich their understanding of the world around them.
Freshman Kareena Bhasin stated, “I’m gonna go to Greece … I’m going to Athens and Crete and I’m just gonna do a bunch of seaside stuff and visit the Parthenon.”

Summer is long-awaited by all Padres after surviving grueling hours studying for finals. While many Serra students spend their summers unwinding, many Padres utilize their summer to best set themselves up for future success.
For instance, junior Enzo DeAngelis reports that while he doesn’t have any “confirmed vacation plans this summer” he looks forward to “spending time with my family and friends.” Additionally, Enzo also plans “to craft my college application themes and begin writing my essays accordingly and obtain an internship in the field of medicine if possible.”
With a vision of balancing leisure activities with productive tasks, Padres like Enzo will undoubtedly craft memorable summers that will also benefit their futures.
