Sweet Maple, in Downtown Palo Alto, is a popular choice with many people, and for good reason. At Sweet Maple, they offer a brunch menu that puts a fresh spin on traditional dishes. The restaurant is always bustling with energy, and while the wait can range from 15 to 40 minutes, it’s well worth it for the food and the experience.
The menu offers a variety of food to cater to various tastes. While I’m a fan of the Matcha Moffle and the chicken sandwich, what Sweet Maple is most known for is its Millionaire’s Bacon. Although I am not a big pork or bacon fan, its popularity means that I intend to give it a shot during my next visit. The fresh raspberry lemonade is another standout for me; it is refreshing and tart in the best way.
One of the frequent customers at Sweet Maple, Ines Bensoussan, described what she believes keeps her coming back, stating, “I think what really drew me is like the Asian fusion they have there that combines brunch and breakfast and lunch with Asian cuisine. I think it’s really cool.”

In addition to wonderful food, the service is also efficient and even friendly during busy brunch times. Even with the crowd, the staff does a great job of keeping things moving, so the experience from beginning to end is a pleasure.
“The service is really fast,” explained Bensoussan. “I was with a group of like four, so it’s like you have to make like four different dishes, and they brought it in probably like 10 minutes, which was like really nice.”
Though the prices are a bit higher than at other local brunch spots, Sweet Maple stands out for its high-quality ingredients, quick service and creative menu. If you are in the Palo Alto area and looking for a vibrant brunch spot, Sweet Maple is definitely worth a visit.
