Spirit events are always exciting for all, and as Aquacades is slowly approaching, the class of 2028 has been working hard to prepare for their first Aquacades. Aquacades will be held on April 11th with the theme Seasoncades, where the Jaguars will represent the fall season and the rock music genre.
The freshman class is filled with anticipation as they prepare for one of the biggest spirit days at NDB. While this event is something fun to look forward to, a lot of preparation goes into it. Since this is the Jaguars’ first time, ASB has given guidance, and they explained the different ways to get involved.
There are a variety of ways to get involved in Aquacades with deck and swim routines. For deck routines, Tigers can participate in solo deck, duet deck, and group deck, which can all have five to eight people in a group. Meanwhile, swim routines include solo swims for one person, duet swims for two people, and group swims involving five to eight participants. Students can also get involved by being backdrop captains or helpers.
Freshmen Zaria Bedard and Gia Hobson are captains for the group deck routine. As they have been preparing, everyone in the team wrote down their ideas for outfits and music, so they can all be used for the routine. They also plan to use props such as inflatables that are the shape of a phone or guitar.
“We’re most excited to perform it [the routine] and see smiles on everybody’s faces when we are performing it,” shared Hobson.
Bedard also shared her goals for her deck team: “Just to make the crowd go wild and for our routine to be really good.”
Swim routines, on the other hand, have been coordinating moves in the water with fun props to use. “I’m most excited for the school spirit that goes into it, and just seeing everyone’s reaction and being able to perform in front of the whole school,” stated Swim Routine Captain Emily Milotich. “[My goals are] just to get through Aquacades and be prepared, be ready, have a routine, have everyone know it, and to not drown,” explained Milotich.
As Aquacades slowly approaches, the class of 2028 has been hard at work preparing for this special day.
The spirit of Aquacades makes everyone at NDB look forward to it as it is filled with music, dancing, and cheering of the crowd. The freshman class are growing more as a class as they have been preparing for this thrilling day. Jaguars are looking forward to giving a great performance and most importantly having fun as a whole class.
