Junior Maisie Street is the Athletics Director on student council, and has been involved in a variety of activities all over NDB. “I would recommend [joining] Ambassador Club. That’s what I did freshmen and sophomore year and it allowed me to participate in more activities as an upperclassmen.

“I think as an underclassmen, you can be a homeroom president or run for your class council,” says Blanchard. Getting involved in student leadership is a great idea. “Kids come up with special projects they want to do to support stuff. [It’s a] great way of getting involved.”

Mr. Tomczak advises underclassmen to get out of your comfort zone. “Definitely communicate your interest to try things to people and seewhat suggestions come out of that, and the next step is to actually give them a shot.”

Clubs are a great way for underclassmen to get involved. “I think a really good way for [students] to get involved is to either try a sport or club you’ve never done before, at least try it once. Being involved means being an active member.”
