KEY CLUB
NDB’s Key Club holds service events both inside and outside of school. They are part of Kiwanis International, an organization dedicated to serving communities globally.
On November 24, they held a Division Council Meeting, where they invited seven other nearby Key Clubs to receive updates on upcoming events and progress reports on membership engagement goals. For the service portion of the event, they partnered with Meals on Wheels, an organization committed to fighting senior food insecurity, to decorate lunch bags with encouraging pop-up notes.
GLOBAL CONNECTIONS CLUB
The Global Connection Club, formerly known as the International Ambassador Club, was created to focus on cultural exchange. It creates an inclusive environment to those of different cultures, specifically international students.
They plan to build the NDB social media platform through apps not typically used in the U.S., including WeChat. On September 17, club members met to prepare for the Lunar Festival Celebration. Many mooncakes were brought to share with NDB students, and the international students created posters to explain about the history of this festival.
LIGHT MUSIC CLUB
The Light Music Club was created by freshman Mary Pagador, who wanted to offer an opportunity for students who have never played in a band before and enjoy making music together.
At the club’s first meeting, they did karaoke, and, at Open House on October 20, the A Capella Club and Light Music Club played music together. They performed songs that went viral this year, such as “HOT TO GO!” by Chappell Roan. This school year, the Light Music Club plans to do a few performances for community service.
