At NDB there are a variety of clubs to join. This school year, a new club made by an NDB freshman has been the talk around campus. Based on a popular Roblox game, the Dress to Impress Club was created this year.
Dress to Impress is a Roblox game where players have to create an outfit based on a theme and go out on a runway. On the runway, players vote for which outfit is the best and there are places for first, second and third. This game became popular due to social media and many who have not played Roblox in a while started playing it.
In the Dress to Impress Club, members are able to play Dress to Impress and connect with others in the club. Each month, there is a theme where members can donate clothes and build an outfit out of the donated clothes. There will be a real life runway, where a winner can receive a Roblox gift card.
The creator of the Dress to Impress Club, President Kiersten Tang, shares more about the club.
“The purpose of the pass club is to be able to inspire girls to become fashion designers and to make their own clothes that they can show off in the runway and to build confidence,” said Tang. “I want members to gain experience in leadership and community service, including making new friends throughout this year and I also want students to encourage each other to hype each other up when it comes to running on a runway.”
There are different roles in the Dress to Impress club which help mangabe various aspects of the club. Freshman Devan Okubo is the secretary of the Dress to Impress Club.
“I feel like DTI is so different because it has its own unique aspects like the custom models, hairs, and faces. Not a lot of other dress up games have clothes like di does, most of them use clothes already on the roblox catalog,” expressed Okubo. “[I hope DTI accomplishes] running successful clothes drives to help a lot of people in need.”
The Dress to Impress Club has many fun events to look forward to. Through Dress to Impress, members can learn to work together, for example creating outfits as duos. They can also learn how to have good sportsmanship, which will also benefit them in the future. The game also inspires creativity and confidence, as they are able to show off their outfits to peers. The Dress to Impress Club is excited to kick off their first year as an official NDB club and to have fun with its members.
