With Thanksgiving break just around the corner, NDB students are finalizing their plans and packing their suitcases to enjoy and celebrate the national holiday with their loved ones. Tigers are gearing up for a festive five-day vacation from November 27 to December first filled with warmth, family, and gratitude. The cherished holiday, landing on November 28, allows students to enjoy a much-needed break and reflect on what they are thankful for.
The five day-long break allows students plenty of time to travel, spend time with friends and family, and participate in whatever holiday traditions they uphold. Many students who are traveling choose to begin their trips as early as November 23, with the two asynchronous school days allowing them to attend classes from anywhere.
“For Thanksgiving break I have my grandparents and other family members coming to visit. We are going to have a big dinner with my family friends as well” says Senior Emma Slocum.
Sophomore Vivienne Butler has plans to spend time with family over the break and get a head start on her homework.
“For Thanksgiving I am going to be spending time with my dad and brother in San Francisco. We may be going up to a family-friend’s house and spending Thanksgiving dinner with them. I will be attending my asynchronous classes on the 25 and 26th.” said Butler. “In my English class I know that we are also doing a timed-essay on “Pride and Prejudice”, so I will be spending a chunk of my time focusing on that. lI will also get a head start on studying for finals” Butler explains.
Senior Adrienne Maass also has big plans to travel with family, while still utilizing the break to work on her homework and upcoming college applications.
“For Thanksgiving my family and I are going to different parts of Portugal for a week. I can’t wait to see a new part of Europe and experience Thanksgiving in a different country” said Maass. “I will also be working on finalizing my college applications and still joining NDB online school on Monday and Tuesday.”
As the break approaches, NDB students are preparing for a week of rest, holiday traditions, and family time. Whether traveling or staying close to home, Tigers are making the most of the 3-day break. As students come together with loved ones to celebrate this day of gratitude, they’re also finding time to recharge and stay productive. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
