Halloween is a spooky holiday when people may get frightened by their fears, such as creepy creatures and monsters. In an online poll conducted by The Catalyst, NDB students were asked what they think the scariest Halloween creature is.
The following creatures and monsters were on this survey: clowns, zombies, grim reapers, werewolves, ghosts, mummies, goblins and an option to write in an answer. Out of 54 responses, the top 3 were clowns, ghosts and zombies, with 57.4% of NDB students think clowns are the scariest, 14.8% of NDB students think ghosts are the scariest and 7.4 % think zombies are the scariest.
“I’d say clowns are the scariest monster because when I saw the “IT” movie trailer I was so scared that I [had] nightmares of the clown,” said freshman Alessandra Morales. “I even tell my mom not to say his name around me as it brings back memories and nightmares. Overall I never really see any horror movies.”
“Personally I just don’t like the way the clowns look,” junior Autumn Deetz-Rodriguez shared. “With their orange curly hair and their pale face with strange makeup, it’s just the most creepy thing I have ever been afraid of. These are definitely the most terrifying Halloween creature.”
The idea of spooky creatures and monsters gets everyone excited for Halloween. Through these, scary stories have been made which adds more to the Halloween fun. As October is the spookiest month, be aware of the creatures and monsters, they may be nearer than you think.
