With the NFL season starting to pick up again, the question many people are wondering and hoping for is a different result than last year: Can the San Francisco 49ers go all the way this year?
The 49ers have consistently had a good record in the season, but capitalizing on the important wins has needed to be improved, which begs the question if people at NDB are still faithful to the Bay. Junior Katie Moorhead talks about her opinion of the 49ers.
“I’ve been a Niners fan my entire life….I think they need to make sure that they run the right plays and, you know, obviously prevent injuries as much as they can, and just make sure that they’re working together,” said Moorhead. “I think they can win this year. I think they have the capability to do it. They went to the Superbowl last year and went into overtime in the Super Bowl last year so they definitely have the opportunity to win, and I absolutely think they can,”
While it is early in the season and there are still a lot of games left, it is noticeable that the 49ers don’t have their whole squad on the field, which is prominently impacting their games. Some of the injured players at the moment who are key players include Christain McCaffery (running back) with achilles tendinitis and Dre Greenlaw (linebacker), with an achilles tear, making it a season-ending injury. While there are more injured athletes on the team, these players are key players for the 49ers, and their absence on the field is noticeable.
With a fresh start coming with the new season, it is a way for the 49ers to begin a new chapter, especially after the Super Bowl Last year, with their defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs resulting in a score of 22-25. Now, what is to say this will happen again, or it won’t happen again? Flag Football Coach Will Evans shares his input on the 49ers and what they need to do to excite the Bay.
“I think it’s going to be very difficult, but my hope is that they find a way to pill it out and win it all. I think they need to be very precise in their execution, both on offense and defense, to create opportunities to outscore the other team. I think [Kyle Shanahan] needs to keep everyone on the same page and growing in the same direction, to make sure that they’re working as efficiently as a team can,” said flag football coach Will Evans on the future of the 49ers.
So, will the San Francisco 49ers capitalize this season, go all the way, and end their drought of Super Bowl wins since 1994? Make sure to watch the 49ers and hopefully see some high points on the scoreboard.
