Over summer break, many NDB students had the opportunity to hang out with friends, travel, play sports, stay at home and go to concerts. The main concerts in the Bay Area were Zack Bryan, Olivia Rodrigo, Outside Lands and Tyler Childers.
Luke Bryan kicked off most people’s summers with his Quitten Times Tour concert in Santa Clara at Levi’s Stadium.
A little later in the summer, Olivia Rodrigo was in town performing her “GUTS” album as well as her “SOUR” album in San Francisco at the Chase Stadium.
“She was great. I felt like she had a good pull and grasp on the audience. She definitely got everyone’s attention,” said sophomore Bea Bakken.
Two weeks before school began, a good portion of the student body attended the Outside Lands music festival that lasted three days, from Friday to Sunday, which was held in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park. Although some students said that they wished there were more “large” headliners, overall it was a night to remember with an opportunity to see artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Post Malone perform.
“I liked Outside Lands. The setlist was a little bit funny but it was good enough,” said sophomore Charlotte Raftery. “The people there were nice and considerate everyone wanted to go to every set so it was a bit hectic. It wasn’t bad at all.”
What seems to have been the best way to end the summer was going to the Tyler Childers concert just three days before the first day of school was a time worth people’s while. The concert started at 7:30 and ended around 10:30.
“I really liked the concert because there was like, a bunch of people so it was a big social event,” said junior Camilla Qaqundah.
Students were also able to buy tickets on the front lawn at the concert giving them time to mingle and catch up with friends they hadn’t seen. The best way to describe the concert was, as Georgianna Drolapas said, “chaotic and a fun atmosphere.”
With these concerts and many others, students were able to attend the ones that were of most interest to them as they relaxed.
