With the 2024-2025 school year underway, Associate Student Body (ASB) President Emilia Luis, Vice President Hailey Degnan, Activities Director Nina Wall, Athletics Director Hailey Kockos, Communications Director Bella Svanberg and Spirit Director Luci Caron are settling into their new roles.
ASB coordinates rallies, class events and the biggest event of the year, Aquacades and already set up NDB’s first homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 28. It is certainly a big role to step into with all of their responsibilities, and the students are excited to see what this year’s ASB has in store for them.
Prior to assuming the role of ASB President, senior Emilia Luis was on student council during her sophomore and junior years with the other five ASB members. She is excited to work with them again.
“It’s definitely been different because, with student councils, we don’t do as much. But, it’s been really exciting,” said Luis. “I’m looking forward to see how well we work together because I feel like we have a good group this year.”
A crucial part of ASB is Director of Student Life and Leadership Alisia Bergholm, who has been managing ASB for the past nine years and assists them with everything from emails to spirit themes.
“I just love managing the different personalities, and each one has something to offer,” said Bergholm.“I am super excited with all the events that are coming up and some of the new events we have, like homecoming.”
ASB, along with help from Bergholm, is always planning community-building activities to get students excited for future events.
