Summer is over and school has begun again. As we ease into the school cycle, meeting new teachers and learning about new classes we are left with the question of if we should jump right into the work and not the “get to know you stuff”. While not doing work is the choice, most students would prefer it boring after a while since we are at school we might as well rip off the band-aid and get to work but maybe not homework.
As we approach our 3rd week of school we have all gotten homework by now but some students have mentioned homework on the first or second day of school. Now from an education standpoint that seems reasonable but in a way we all just got here.
It can be hard to go right to work after coming back from such a long break to transition back into the school setting. Some students feel that it was expected because we all had summer homework. It was not like they were going to get a test or anything But rather do classwork instead of homework. Mainly because getting an introduction lecture is ideal but having homework is more stressful than coming back to school so soon.
It turns out homework for the first week of school Isn’t what most students would like to do but they aren’t against it. Hopefully, now we are all back in the normal school routine we’ve all adjusted to the workload we will be receiving.
