Picnic
Now that the weather is warming up, it’s time to take advantage of the beautiful summer sunshine with a relaxing picnic. Whether it is big or small, everyone should take part in a picnic day. Look on Pinterest for inspiration, and then all that needs to be done is get a picnic blanket, food and find a location. Picnics can take place at parks, beaches, or even just in a backyard. This is a delightful summer activity that allows one to decompress, relax, and have fun with friends and family.
Watch a sunrise or sunset
The summer season is home to gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. Rather than staying inside or sleeping in, venture into the outdoors and watch the sun make its’ arrival or departure for the day. Wake up early at dawn and watch the sun rise up. If preferred, wait until dusk and watch the sun meet the horizon. Although sunsets are beautiful everywhere, finding a fitting location like a beach or a lake will enhance the experience. During the first few days of June, the sunrise begins at 5:48 A.M. and the sunset begins at 8:23 P.M. It is amazing to watch the sky turn into pastels, and watching sunsets/sunrises helps put things into perspective.
Kayaking/paddleboarding
Whether in Lake Tahoe or just in Foster City, at least one day in everyone’s summer should be spent on the water. This is a perfect way to get outside, and it is also an enjoyable form of exercise. Rent kayaks and paddleboards, pack a snack, and spend a day paddling with friends. It is a great way to connect with nature and explore what the water has to offer. This summer activity is a great way to cool off and spend time with friends.
Baking day
Set aside a day to spend in the kitchen for a summer baking day and try out some tasty new recipes. Double down and actually make those recipes on the “recipes to try” list. Make a whole meal from scratch – instead of eating out, choose the healthier option and cook from home. Making a homemade meal leaves people feeling accomplished much more so than takeout food would have. Similarly, everyone should try making a meal for their family and show they appreciate them. Of course, make summer-themed desserts as well like ice cream cake, homemade popsicles, or freshly squeezed lemonade. This is a great way to gain a new skill and everyone should check this activity off their bucket list.
